Understanding FEC's Latest Rate Adjustment

NOTICE OF RETAIL RATE CHANGES AND NOTICE OF MEMBER MEETING

On July 8, 2026, the Board of Directors of Fayette Electric Cooperative, Inc., approved changes in retail rates effective for consumption on and after September 23, 2026.  The changes will affect all members in all territory the Cooperative serves.  The changes are necessary for the Cooperative to maintain financial stability and an advantageous profile for the financial borrowing market and the wholesale power market, given the ongoing increases in operational expenses and capital improvement expenditures necessary to meet customer service needs and changing regulatory requirements.  The tariff sheet revisions are available for inspection at the Cooperative’s office.

The primary changes are to the monthly customer, peak demand, lighting fixture, and wires charges (but not to the power cost passthrough).  Those changes are expected to increase total system annual revenues by approximately $3,226,810.  Those existing and new rates are:

Additional changes include updating the character of service description for industrial service and updating the service fees. The existing and new service fees are:

Because the change in rates is expected to increase total system annual revenues by more than $100,000 or one percent, the Cooperative will hold a meeting to discuss the changes with members on August 21, 2026, at 2 p.m., at the Cooperative’s office, 2111 North Von Minden Rd., La Grange, Texas 78945.  Please direct inquiries about this notice to Mr. Doug Lambert, Cooperative General Manager, at the Cooperative’s office or at (979) 968-3181.
