Fayette Electric Cooperative and Colorado Valley Telephone Cooperative to Host Annual Co-op Shred Day

As part of National Co-op Month, Fayette Electric Cooperative (FEC) and Colorado Valley Telephone Cooperative (CVTC) invite members and the community to safely dispose of sensitive documents at the Annual Co-op Shred Day on Friday, October 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the KC Community Center, 190 S. Brown Street in La Grange.

The free event is designed to help individuals protect themselves from identity theft by securely shredding confidential documents. Cooperative members are encouraged to bring paper documents they no longer need and have them professionally shredded on-site.

Paper documents will be accepted for shredding. Items such as cardboard, binders, hard drives, electronics, CDs, floppy disks, and other non-paper materials cannot be accepted.

In the cooperative spirit of neighbors helping neighbors, donations will be accepted during the event to benefit Senior Connections, a local organization serving older adults in the community.

“Co-op Shred Day is a practical way for cooperatives to serve their members while helping protect personal information,” said Fayette Electric Cooperative General Manager and CEO Doug Lambert. “It’s also an opportunity to celebrate National Co-op Month and the cooperative values of community commitment and member ownership.”
