Fayette Electric Cooperative and CoBank recently awarded $30,000 in matching grants to four local organizations through the cooperative’s Sharing Success Grant Program, supporting projects that strengthen communities and improve quality of life across the cooperative’s service area.
The grants were announced during Fayette Electric Cooperative’s Annual Membership Meeting held July 15 in La Grange. Through the Sharing Success Program, Fayette Electric Cooperative and CoBank partner to support community organizations, public service agencies and local initiatives that make a positive impact throughout Central Texas.
This year’s grant recipients include:
Shelby Volunteer Fire Department received $5,000 to assist with the purchase of a new pumper truck. Fayette Electric Cooperative provided a $2,500 grant, which CoBank matched.
Round Top Schuetzen Verein Preservation received $5,000 for renovation projects at its historic hall. Fayette Electric Cooperative provided a $2,500 grant, which CoBank matched.
Greater Fayette Community Foundation for the Fayette County Semiquincentennial Commission’s Liberty Tree Project received $6,000 to support countywide tree-planting efforts. Fayette Electric Cooperative provided a $3,000 grant, which CoBank matched.
Fayette County EMS Foundation received $14,000 for the installation of drinking water stations at EMS agency locations. Fayette Electric Cooperative provided a $7,000 grant, which CoBank matched.
“These projects reflect the spirit of community investment and local partnership,” said Doug Lambert, Fayette Electric Cooperative general manager and CEO. “By working together with CoBank, we can support organizations that provide vital services, preserve local heritage and enhance the quality of life for the people we serve.”
