Coat Connection Returns to Help Local Children

As temperatures begin to drop, Fayette Electric Cooperative is once again inviting the community to help provide warmth and comfort to local children through its annual Coat Connection program.

Now through November 30, community members can donate new or gently used coats, hats, gloves, and other cold-weather items to help children in need throughout the area. Monetary donations will also be accepted and will be used to purchase winter coats for local youth.

Local businesses and organizations can also get involved by serving as a Coat Connection collection site or supporting the program in other ways. Businesses interested in helping are encouraged to contact Tracy Denton at Fayette Electric Cooperative to learn more about partnership opportunities.

For many families, winter clothing can be a significant expense. The Coat Connection program helps ensure that children have access to essential cold-weather gear so they can stay warm while traveling to school, playing outdoors, and participating in everyday activities during the winter months.

"One coat can make a tremendous difference in a child's life," said Tracy Denton, director of marketing, communications & training at Fayette Electric Cooperative. "This program is an opportunity for our members, employees, and communities to come together and provide comfort, warmth, and hope for local families."

Donations may be dropped off at Fayette Electric Cooperative's office, located at 2111 N. Von Minden Road in La Grange, from now through November 30. Additional collection locations may be announced throughout the campaign.

Children from infants through 12th grade are eligible to receive a coat through the program. Coat distribution will take place on November 30 and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

The program reflects the cooperative principle of Concern for Community, demonstrating how small acts of generosity can create a meaningful impact for local families.

Whether you donate a coat, purchase a pair of gloves, or make a monetary contribution, every gift helps keep a child warm this winter.
