Fayette Electric Cooperative reached a milestone in the implementation of electrical safety. Texas Electric Cooperatives’ Loss Control Division recently presented FEC with a certificate for operating one year without a lost-time work injury. Also recognized was FEC Groundman David Caine for 35 years without a lost-time injury. The presentation took place during the Texas Electric Cooperatives’ Loss Control Annual Conference held in San Marcos March 20 – 22.
The Loss Control Program provides safety training for employees of the 67 electric distribution cooperatives located in the state of Texas who serve more than 2 million meters in 241 of Texas’ 254 counties.
“From the employees who work in the office to those who work on the power lines, their commitment and dedication to safety is an outstanding achievement,” said Gary Don Nietsche, FEC general manager. “The cooperative is serious about safety and will continue to be active in the Loss Control Program because we want our employees to return home safely to their family and loved ones every night,” Nietsche added.
