Fayette Electric Cooperative is adjusting its retail base rates to ensure financial stability and continue providing reliable, affordable power. The increase, approved by the board on January 8 and will be reflected on the June 2025 bill, will raise overall revenues by approximately 4.3%, with an average bill impact of less than 4% per affected member.

The adjustment is driven by rising operating and labor costs, capital improvements, and expenses related to the co-op’s new headquarters. Additionally, tariff changes will increase the size limit for small power production and cogeneration from 100 to 999 kilowatts, accommodating larger rooftop solar installations.

Members are invited to a meeting to discuss the changes on March 24 at 2 p.m. at the Randolph Recreation-Activity Center, 653 Pearl St., La Grange. For questions, contact Fayette Electric Cooperative at (979) 968-3181 or toll-free at 1-866-968-3181 or here for more information.
