Fayette Electric Cooperative (FEC), in partnership with CoBank, proudly awarded $30,000 in grants to four area nonprofit organizations on August 8. The donations were made possible through CoBank’s Sharing Success charitable contribution program.
CoBank’s signature Sharing Success program doubles the impact of its customer-owners by matching their charitable contributions. Since its inception in 2012, the program has helped CoBank and its customers jointly contribute more than $97 million to organizations that make life better in rural communities — from volunteer fire departments to local schools and hunger relief programs. In 2024 alone, 696 customers contributed more than $5.2 million, which CoBank matched dollar-for-dollar, generating a total impact of $10.4 million nationwide.
This year, FEC and CoBank awarded $7,500 each to the following organizations:
• Navidad Valley Community Connections DBA Senior Connections – Funding will support meal-based programming across three locations, helping provide nutritious, home-cooked meals to seniors in Fayette, Lavaca, and Colorado Counties.
• Smith-McMillan Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) – Grant funds will support activities for the nation’s 250th birthday celebration, including a one-act play, public service announcements, liberty tree plantings, a celebration on the La Grange square, and a float in the Round Top July 4th parade.
• Schulenburg Historical Museum – Funds will go toward renovations of the Bohms Building, which houses the museum and preserves the community’s history.
• The James Dick Foundation for the Performing Arts – The grant will assist with needed improvements at Festival Hill, ensuring the facility continues to provide valuable arts, education, and community services while maintaining public safety for the thousands who visit annually.
“Fayette Electric Cooperative is committed to supporting the communities we serve,” said Doug Lambert, FEC’s general manager and CEO. “Through our partnership with CoBank, we’re able to make a greater impact and help these organizations continue their important work.”
