Fayette Electric Cooperative is urging caution this week after it received a call from an area business reporting an unknown caller, claiming to be from Fayette Electric demanding immediate payment for an alleged delinquent bill with the threat of disconnecting the business’ electric service. 

   These calls are part of a utility fraud scheme that has been a growing concern for utilities across Texas and the nation for the past several years.
