Did you know that Fayette Electric Cooperative and Colorado Valley Communications both share something in common? That’s right ˗˗ we’re both cooperatives. We may be in different industries, but we both share a passion for serving our members and helping our communities to thrive. In fact, all cooperatives adhere to the same set of seven principles that reflect our core values of honesty, transparency, equity, inclusiveness and service to the greater community good.
October is National Co-op Month, so this is the perfect time to reflect on these principles that have stood the test of time but also provide a framework for the future. Co-op Month provides an opportunity for cooperatives to celebrate the benefits of cooperatives with their members and the community. As a special thank you to their members, Colorado Valley Telephone Cooperative and Fayette Electric Cooperative hosted their 4th Annual Shred Day on Friday, October 1.
Members from both cooperatives took advantage of the free shredding services at both locations. Those who brought more than three boxes donated funds which will, in turn, be donated to the AMEN Food Pantry and Hospice Brazos Valley.
